Once a time he was hit by the Socs in his house, and he hurt badly that time. He remembers the man who hit him have a big ring. It becomes the last thing that he wants to remember. From this scene we can see the way Dally deal with things and the differences between the two gangs. He always plays cool in front of others and let them feel that he does not even care. And the Socs hates the Greasers as the same way they hate them. Cherry likes the way Dally acts; it is quite like her boyfriend. She cannot help to be appealed by him. During the way home, Pony and Cherry talked about Johnny.

Because Darry is now response for Pony and Soda, it is his responsibility to take care of them from getting hurt. Darry could work very hard and pretend to be strict with them, but what he want is them to stay good. That’s why he was mad at Pony boy, it means that he really cares about him and tries very hard to protect him. Darry knows what will happen if Pony stay outside alone at night, so he want to avoid that bad situation.
  • Pony boy and Johnny went to the park, and Socs came to fight with them, and Bob was killed by Johnny in an accident[2]

Even though they are tough and cool, they do not know who they are and responsibility. The Socs only want to bully them, they nerver thought thing would become serious like that. And Bob was drunk when all the stuff happen, he finally paid for what he did. It makes us think about the people’s behavior. We have to be responsible for what we did.
  • Johnny and Pony boy were scared to death, and they asked Dally for help. He told them to run away.[1]

After Johnny killed Bob, the only person who can help them to get out of the trouble is Dally. One is because he is the leader of the gang., the other is he has experience of complicated things, so he might know how to deal with it. And he told them what to do and give them money. They have left the town where they spend their earlier times in there, so it is just like the connection of them and the place where they belong are cut off.

But Pony boy did not noticed that. He thought Darry do not like him at all. He thought Darry is crazy and unbelievable, he felt wronged. This part makes the feelings and relations more clear. The readers understand that the three of them are family, but they have misunderstandings. They are the most important people to each other but they did not realized it deeply.
  • Pony boy and Johnny went to the park, and Socs came to fight with them, and Bob was killed by Johnny in an accident. [1]

This a turn in the course of events. From the moment that Johnny killed Bob, both of their life changes a lot. Johnny was beaten by Bob badly before and it kind of nightmare to him. When Johnny saw he was drowning Pony, he feels terrified and hopeless. Pony is his young brother and he does not want him die, so he struggled and saved Pony. From this we can see that they are just teenagers who do not understand what will happen when the decisions are made.
  • They had spent rough time at the abandoned church, and they disguised themselves. [2]

The long hair is the connection of the greasers. After they change it, they just lost it. They feel confused, it make pony think he is not himself anymore. It just like one day he wake up, he has turn into another strange person. This makes him uncomfortable and low. Pony used to go to school everyday and hang out with the greasers, but when the accident happens, everything changed. He do not know where to go.
  • They had spent rough time at the abandoned church, and they disguised themselves. [1]

The two of them just stay at the church for about a month. During that time, they have spent time with each other, and talk something they never talked before. The book Gone with the wind really make them think of something, they started to know the real meaning of life. Stay with gold. Even life is complicated, good can still stay. They also see the sunrise, it give them a shock, they have different feelings than before. In order to hide themselves, they cut and dye their hairs.
  • Dally, Johnny and Pony ran into the on fired church to rescue the children. All of them got injured.[2]

Johnny was brave enough to the church to save the children; another reason is that he wanted to do something good. As for pony, he was kind all the time.
  • Johnny wanted to deliver himself to the police, and Cherry was the spy between the Greasers and the Socs.[1]

From previous of the book, there is evidence that Johnny had been bit badly by the Socs, especially Bob. It is certain that he remember this, but he never meant to kill Bob. Johnny was extremely worried about pony when he saw him almost drowning, so he saved pony in no seconds. But he never know that he would kill Bob. That means too much to him. Johnny was a teenager, he do not know what to do at that time.
  • Dally, Johnny and Pony ran into the on fired church to rescue the children. All of them got injured.[1]

Dally is tough all the time, he does not care much; he is very mean and cold blooded too. But Johnny is the last person that he does care. At the beginning he help them to run away, and then he come to see them. He would never save the children from the abandoned church, but he will in order to save Johnny. Even though Johnny doesn’t have a happy family and a happy childhood, he has a warm and kind heart.
  • Johnny wanted to deliver himself to the police, and Cherry was the spy between the Greasers and the Socs.[2]

And one thing is for sure, he knows that kill a person is not right, He can not make it happen again, he can not make Bob come back alive, but he is a brave young man, he can admit what he has done. That’s the only thing he can do now. From this we can see he has good quality. Cherry is definitely a Socs, and she is pretty too. So they do not believe would help them. She just feel guilty for she is the roots of the trouble.
  • They went back home, they became heroes, and Pony boy and Darry finally got back together.[1]

This deed was reported on the newspaper, and they suddenly became the heroes overnight. This action had changed the people's opinion of the Greasers because this action was really different from what they used to be and what people used to think that the Greasers would accomplish nothing, the only thing that they would do was stealing and flirting with young girls. For the Greasers, they might never think that someday people would praise them, and it must be little different for them.
  • They went back home, they became heroes, and Pony boy and Darry finally got back together.[2]

After escaping from the police staying with Johnny without any relatives, and Pony got hurt in that fire, Pony became know that Darry was really care about Pony, and before he went back home, he thought he would never forgive Darry, but the moment when he went back home, he didn’t blame Darry anymore.
  • Pony boy and Two-bit went to the hospital to check Johnny, and they bumped into Randy. They had a conversation.[2]

This point mostly showed us the individual emotion of whatever the Greasers or Socs. Randy had mentioned that he was also tired of being divided into a gang, or being identified as what kind of people. This was also the point that mentioned before, and the author tried to tell people that maybe they were same in someway, but everyone was individual, and had their own personalities.
  • Pony boy and Two-bit went to the hospital to check Johnny, and they bumped into Randy. They had a conversation.[1]

Randy said that he didn’t want to join this fight because he was tired of being stuck in these two gangs. Randy talked with him about Bob’s family, and Pony became know that Bob was not just like what he performed, or what he acted. Bob’s parents were very busy, and they were careless to Bob. In fact, Bob was a nice guy who was lack of the sense of safety, and didn’t think about others, so he fought and did bad things.
  • Dally woke up, and had his knife back, he wanted to revenge for Johnny.

Johnny was hurt very bad, and everyone was worried about him. No one had ever thought that they would get injured. When Dally woke up, things had changed, and it seemed that Dally had more confidence and determination to win this fight. He even decided to use his knife. They had to win this fight.
  • Rumble began, and the Greasers won at the end.

For the honor, they must win the fight and if they could win this fight, it means that they do not have to be contemptuous by Socs or others. They could even do everything in a perfectly justifiable way in their territory. Because the Greasers had been looked down upon for a long time, and people didn’t really know what the greasers exactly were, so the greasers were eager to win, and everyone was ready to have a big fight. It was about their honor.
  • Dally and Pony ran to the hospital, but Johnny had dead already. Dally got crazy.[2]

There was nothing to keep Dally being alive, so he got crazy. What’s more, I think the climax of this novel was this part, even though they won, it was just meaningless, and what Johnny wanted was staying gold.
  • Pony believed that Johnny was still alive, Dally had dead at the park.[1]

We knew that Dally had two faces, and the good side was for Johnny. He protected Johnny so much that he even couldn't allow anyone to bully him. Now that Johnny dead, it seemed that he had no reason to live anymore. He chose to die, and he decided to die as he used an unloaded gun and pointed at the police. I think Dally regarded Johnny as a faith to keep him good, but now, it just disappeared.
  • Dally and Pony ran to the hospital, but Johnny had dead already. Dally got crazy.[1]

Pony went to the hospital to tell the Johnny that they won. They won for him, for the greasers, but Johnny told Pony to stay gold, keep real. For Dally, he concerned Johnny as his life, what he did everything was for Johnny, he wanted him back, he wanted Johnny to return alive; however, Johnny died. Everything just didn’t make sense from now on. In the past, to Dally, Johnny was his hope, but now, the hope was just shattered, and disappeared.
  • Pony believed that Johnny was still alive, Dally had dead at the park.[2]

He kept thinking about that Johnny was still alive because he couldn't accept this fact that Johnny had dead, he refused this fact. It's kind of big impact for Pony that Johnny died; maybe he got some mental problems. Pony might think that he caused it, so Johnny killed Bob; it was caused by him, so he should take the responsibility and he was the person who killed Bob.
  • Pony was judged innocent, and he went back school.[1]

This part is just like the falling actions. After he experienced these stuffs, it seemed that he went to another world and it just passed so fast that he was back to school again. He was confused. However, the students in the school had a different way of looking at Pony, or judging him, and Pony noticed that, he just didn’t know how to react about it.
  • Pony was judged innocent, and he went back school.[2]

Even though he was back to school, he didn’t get ready for it, and he rapid declined in performance and grades even in his favorite subject. His teacher wanted him to write an essay so that he would not be failed in his exam. That was the symbol of the end of this novel.
  • He decided to write about the Greasers' stories into his essay.[1]

I think the ending of this novel is very special, it was same with the beginning of this novel, and they are linked and connected. Pony knew the whole things, and he understood all the things whatever what Randy said or Johnny told him. Pont just experienced a lot, and he could not just speak it out, he could not talk with Soda. He put all things in his mind, and he was confused and depressive.
  • He decided to write about the Greasers' stories into his essay.[2]

After he read the letter from Johnny, he decided to write the stories about the Greasers. There were a lot of good things that they never met, and the reason that Dally was so tough was that he used to be tough.
