Dred Scott V. Sanford
Dred Scott was a sklave and his owner took him to a place where slavery was illegal. Scott sued for his freedom. He could'nt sue because he was not a U.S citizen. So he can't sue U.S courts. -
Attack on Harpers Ferry
Brown asked slaves to fight for their freedom. They captured Harpers Ferry arsenal. They killed four people. U.S marines attacked Brown's army. Brown was caught and was tried for murder and treason. He was convicted and hung. -

Southerners warned if Lincoln won, the southern states would secede or withdraws from the union. -
