  • Kansas-Nebraska Act

    a act that let people choose rather they wanted to allow slavery.
  • Bleeding Kansas

    People were mostly proslavery settlers than antislavery settlers. Proslavery people didn't want to lose the election so people voted illegally.
  • Caning of Sumner

    Americans, Southerners, and Northerners were ashamed of the behavior of Sumner Brooks. Some people said to hit him again.
  • Dred Scott V. Sanford

    Dred Scott was a sklave and his owner took him to a place where slavery was illegal. Scott sued for his freedom. He could'nt sue because he was not a U.S citizen. So he can't sue U.S courts.
  • Attack on Harpers Ferry

    Brown asked slaves to fight for their freedom. They captured Harpers Ferry arsenal. They killed four people. U.S marines attacked Brown's army. Brown was caught and was tried for murder and treason. He was convicted and hung.
