Together they set out to complete one water project after hearing of a specific need in Kenya.     The Water Project began their work to provide clean water in August of 2006. And what started with a few inspired teens and adults, in Saint John, NB Canada - now based in Concord, NH, USA - today reaches thousands of new people every day with a compelling call to action. The Water Project, to date, has helped over 275,000 people improve their access to clean water in over 700 communities.

    Exact location of wellThe first ever hand-operated well was installed in Kenya at Eburenga Primary School on February 15th, 2009. The water provides the schoolchildren with clean water for proper sanitation, and water for drinking, free of diseases.

    A well with a depth of 18m was installed in Kimira, sponsored by the Water Project on April 24th, 2009. This was sponsored by three churches, Millville Bapist Church, first covenant church, and Summit United Baptist Church. The well currently needs repair.

    The Emusanda Community well was completed in June 2009. Both children and adults have been lining up to gather clean, safe drinking water - now only steps from where they live!

    Osika School Well
    A brand new, hund-operated well was installed in Kenya, at Osika Primary School. The students now have access to clean, potable water.
  • Aleko Community Well

    Aleko Community Well
    The community at Aleko in Western Kenya is enjoying it's brand new well. This community well point is serving hundreds of people who, before this well was installed, walked 5km to an unprotected spring.
