Clara Barton is born in Massachusetts and she is the youngest out of five of her siblings. -
April 1861 Clara helps wounded soldiers
After battles many hurt men went to D.C and Clara found them and she used her own supplies to nurse them back to health. -
August 1862 Clara goes into the battlefields
Clara goes to the battle fields and helps the wounded but she has to receive official approval. She gets approval. -
1865
Clara helps to look for missing soldiers. Abraham Lincoln approves Clara to establish an office to find lost soldiers. She located over 22,000 lost soldiers by doing this. -
1868 Clara gets sick
Clara gets sick after many years of hard work Clara's health starts to go bad. She lost her voice doing a speech. -
1869 Clara learns about Red cross
Clara traveled to Europe to be able to recover from Health issues. When she goes she learns about the Re Cross. -
1881 Clara worked to Establish the ARC
After coming back from Europe Clara worked hard to establish a Red Cross in America. She wrote a pamphlet called The Red Cross of America. -
1881 The first American Red Cross is formed
Clara was successful in forming the ARC. She was elected it's first president. -
1904 Clara Published a book on the red cross
Clara Published a book called The Story of the Red Cross. Then she wrote an autobiography in 1907 called The story of my Childhood. -
1912 Clara Barton Dies
Clara Barton had died in her home at the old age of 90 she will always remain a legacy to the American Red Cross and America.
