Jackson enlist in the Revolutionary Army
As a boy, he enlists the Army, staying there for 8 years.
Battle of New Orleans
The British attacked New Orleans in hopes of taking it in hopes of controlling the Mississpi. As a general, Jackson achieves one of the greatest victories in American history.
Election of 1824
There were four members of the old Republican, each having support from differents parts in the country. Andrew Jackson had in the west. John Quincy Adams, ended up wining, although Jackson won the popular vote. All because of a "corrupt bargain".
Election of 1828
Adams faced an uphill battle for re-election against only one opponent. Jackson, who easily one against Adams.
Indian Removal Act
It forced many Native Americans to move west of the Mississippi. Whites did not mind turning over land to indinas that was considered vast desert.
This was a showdonw between the state of South Carolina and President Andrew Jackson. It started wiht Jackson's Tariff of 1828, which taxed imported items.
Worcester V. Ga
Many states wanted to prevent tribes likes the Cherokees from making their own government within state borders. In 1828, Georgia passed a law declaring that all Indians in the state must be governed by state laws. Supreme Court declared it unconstitutional, however Jackson did not agree.
President Jackson waged war on the Bank of the United States. He believed that it was too strong, so in the end he vetoed it.
Also know as, the Trail of Tears, it was a series of forced removals of American Indians from southeastern United States during the 1830.
