  • Benjamin Franklin was born

    Benjamin Franklin was born in Boston Massachusetts. He did many great things for the country of the United States. He published the newspaper, The Pennsylvania Gazette. He also published Poor Ritchard's Almanac. Ben Franklin created the first American library.

  • Steam Boats make transportation easier

  • The Carolinas split

    The Carolinas separated into North Carolina and South Carolina. When the Carolinas separated into north and south, the continued to have small farms and the south had larger plantations.

    This act was passed by English Parliament. It limited the growth of the iron industry in the American colonies. It was also to protect the English Iron industry. Image Source

    In Europe, this was known as the Seven Year's War. It ended with the Treaty of Paris. In this, France gives England all French territory east of the Mississippi River, but New Orleans. The Spanish gave up east and west Florida to the English in return for Cuba.

  • First Public railway line opens in Britain

    The railway system allowed for economy growth. Goods were able to be shipped by trail. People could also travel from places easily.
