    Dorothea Dix campaigned for more humane treatment for people placed in these asylums, and to change the way they lived.

    Educating students with EBD became a specialization, and the first priavte school for students was founded.
  • Congress

    Congress passed P.L 88-164 which provded funding for teacher preparation for students with EBD.
  • Inlcusion

    A mjaority of students are now being educated in public school special education classrooms, and the treatment now focuses on education, prevention, and early id.
