    The President, FDR, said that this day will ly in ïnfamy´´ That day was the attack on Pearl Harbor. This is what caused the USA to declare war.

    In the month of January there was masive killings of jews that began to take place att Auschwitz-Birkenau. The bodies were buried in mass graves nearby.

    Russian troops liberate the first concentration camp at Majdanek. Over 360,000 Jews had been murdered there.

    Hitler commits suicide in his bunker by taking cyanide and shooting himself in Berlin after the Allied forces reached Berlin only months before the war ends.
