    On this day, the HMS Beagle set sail on it's famous 5 year voyage. This is where the famous scientist, Charles Darwin, would do his most famous work!
  • First Stop...

    It is in the month of January, the Beagle made it's first stop in the Cape Verde. This is where Darwin got his first taste of the science of Biology. He was so excited that he said himself that he would write a book.
  • Crossing the Equator

    In this month timeframe, the brave sailors crossed the equator
  • Salvador, Brazil

    It is here where Darwin explores a dense rainforest for the first time and adds many more species of plants and animals to his notes.
  • A Bony Discovery

    It is here where Darwin see's and documents fossils for the first time. He documents an animal in the same family as armidilos, a glyptodonts, which is now extinct.
  • Happy Anniversary

    It is here in a stop in Argentina where the crew was celebrating their 1st year at sea. It is also here, where the capitain tries to launch a christian mission, but it fails miserably.
  • The first Islands

    The crew lands in the Falkland Islands where Darwin digs up some strange primitive stones and fossils that he believes were used by prehistoric humans.
  • Back In Argentina

    Savoring the freedom of the gauchos and exploring the lowland fertile valleys, Darwin takes a break from his studies for a bit.
  • Mountanous Chile

    The Beagle crew explores the mountains and while exploring, sees the one of the volcanoes erupt and experiences an earthquake that raises the sea floor 9 feet!
  • The Famous Encounters

    It is here where the crew arrives at the Galapagos Islands and where Darwin does some of his most famous work and was fascinated by the huge tortises living there.
  • Gday Mate

    When Darwin lands in Australia, he wonders to himself why the marsupials are significantly different than those not on the Australian continent
  • Coconut Island

    It is here on the Cocos Islands that Darwin studies much of the marine life on the coral reefs surrounding the Islands
