Satoshi Tajiri’s (the founder of Pokémon) childhood hobby of collecting tadpoles and insects exists, and this is his inspiration of Pokémon.

Pokémon Red and Green are released and goes viral all over Japan, starting its journey to the Video Game Hall of Fame. Pokémon is a game where there are Pokémon instead of animals and you can battle them, catch them, train them, evolve them, trade them and of course, run away from the wild Pokémon! You journey world, catching Pokémon, battling other trainers, battle gym leaders for badges, fight the elite four and the champion to become "the very best, that no-one ever was!"
