Ruby Bridges's First Day in a White school
On this day Ruby Bridges became the first African-American student to attend an all white school. As didficult a task this was, the Bridges family endured the hardships and took the first steps that paved the way toward integrated schools.

Civil Rights Act of 1964

Bilingual Education Act

No Child Left Behind Act
The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) was established with the vision that by the year 2014, all students would be proficient in math and reading. The Act increased accountability of schools and teachers, essentially molding education over the past 12 years. -
Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) 2004
Children with disabilities recieve a Free Appropriate Public Eduction (FAPE) in which Special Education services are implemented. The main purpose is to prepare students with disablities for "futher education, employment, and independent living (Wikipedia,Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, 2014)
