    Hoover was elected president. He was influential in the development of radio and air travel, which helped the country find out what was happening in other countries and to listen to the news and be updated on certain events. As president he tried to combat the Great Depression that the citizens were going through. They named the Hoover Dam about him because it was a lot of work. It wasn't a compliment to the president, instead it was an insult.

    This was a huge dirt storm that contained the soil and fertile soil from the farmer's farms. The fertile soil was taken away from the farmers, which caused them to have less crops. The dirt went to the West, which was where the doctors sent the patients that had lung problems. The dust storm caused more problems to them.

    The construction of this dam was to get electricity and water during the Great depression. Henry Kaiser was the architect of this dam. The dam had so much water that it produced electricity for the city of Las Vegas. Many men wanted to help and work to build the dam because they were in need of a job. The job wasn't very easy because there was lots of explosives and toxic fumes in the air, but the men still worked. The dam took 5 years to build and it was named after the president as an insult.

    Many more Americans lost their jobs, which caused them to go to farther places and build their own homes. Many men were fighting for jobs to help their families. Lots of people moved to the West and built their homes there.

    This army was 10,000 and 20,000 World War I veterans. They came to support the a bill under debate in Congress. They would get paid a bonus (to World War I veterans who had not been compensated adequately for their wartime service). The bonus was approved and paid out $500 per soldier. The veterans wanted to meet the president, but Hoover disbanned them.

    He won an overwhelming victory, capturing nearly 23 million votes to Hoover's nearly 16 million. He formed a program designed to alleviate the problems of the Great Depression which was called the New Deal.

    Adolf Hitler has formed his army and is going to take our Germany and the other countries. Many Americans weren't aware of the commotion in Germany until the news was broadcasted on the radio where many Americans were listening and found out about what happened. They didn't want to get involved. There was even a boxing match that would determine which country was "better." The Americans won the match.

    Congress created the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commision to help the stock market get regulated because since the stock market has failed, the U.S. had to help the citizens get the money and help they needed. They opened soup kitchens for the people that needed food. This commission tried to help regulate the Great Depression and hope that it would get better through this system.

    Theodore Roosevelt was reelected again because he was the one that helped out the Americans that needed help and food. He was the one that created the New Deal, with was a phrase taken from a campaign speech in which Roosevelt had promised "a new deal for the American people."
