    Enabling Act

    The Enabling Act targeted everyone in Germany, and its goal was to get everyone to vote for Hitler. This law shows persecution against Jehovah’s witnesses because the law made propaganda to make people believe Hitler was good so they would be influenced to vote for him.
  • Adolf Hitler Appointed Chancellor

    In November of 1932, the Nazi party won 33 percent of the vote in the German Election. Due to this, President Paul von Hindenburg appointed Adolf Hitler the new chancellor of Germany.
    This law shows persecution against Jehovah’s witnesses because Hitler now had more power which was the first step to start the Holocaust.
  • Reichstag Fire Decree

    This law was put into place by President von Hindenburg. It took away the freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and the right for people to assemble. the government now could control what was being published to citizens of Germany.
    This law shows persecution against Jehovah’s witnesses because they would get arrested if they published information or made any political organizations.
  • Burning of “Un-German” Books

    Hitler ordered all of the Nazis to burn all of the books, almost, because the only books considered to be okay were ones that were pro-nazi. Any book that was Anti-Nazi, Un-German, or published by a Jew was burned. This law shows persecution against Jehovah’s witnesses because when they burned the books it prevented knowledge that Hitler was bad.
  • Hitler Becomes Fuhrer

    When president paul von died. Hitler became president. Hitler got rid of the office and declared himself as the dictator. Hitler could do whatever he wanted to do. This law shows persecution against Jehovah’s witnesses because now hitler could make laws to get ‘rid’ of Jehovah’s witnesses and anyone hitler did not like.
  • Mandatory Military Service

    This law says if you are able to fight you have to fight and there would be penalties if they didn't. This law shows persecution against Jehovah’s witnesses because the military took them to go fight if they were able.
  • Jehovah’s Witness Organization Banned

    This law said that Jehovah’s witnesses were not allowed to practice their religion. This law shows persecution against Jehovah’s witnesses because they were not allowed to practice their religion and if they were caught practicing it they would be sent to concentration camps.
  • Magdalena Kusserow

    The Nazis thought Magdalena’s family were enemies because they were Jehovah’s witnesses. Magdalena was arrested and sent to prison when she was 18. Later she was sent to Ravensbruck because she refused to sign a statement that says that she refuses that she is a Jehovah’s witness.
  • First prisoners arrive at auschwitz

    In June 1940 all Christan and Jewish people were put into concentration camps and most of them went to the most popular camp of all Auschwitz and were imprisoned for years and tested on and killed. This law shows persecution against Jehovah’s witnesses because they started sending them to Auschwitz and killing or testing on them.
  • Mass murder begins at Chelmno

    Chelmno was the first Major killing operation in order to annihilate the Jewish population. Chelmno was also the first location to use gas to mass-murder Jews. At least 172,000 Jews and others were killed here.
    This law shows persecution against Jehovah’s witnesses because it marked the beginning of mass murder, and they got killed.
  • Announcement of Death Penalty for Aiding Jews

    What the law does is it tells people if they help jews or if they were caught hiding they would be killed.
    This law shows persecution against Jehovah’s witnesses because if they would be caught hiding or helping a jew they would be killed.
