  • The First Rock and Roll Record

    This had made a big change in how music was produced and sold, especially in the rock and roll genre. The first ever record of it was Ike Turner's "Rocket 88" from 1951.
  • The Day Music Died

    Buddy Holly dies in a plane crash on the morning of February 3rd, 1959. He was 22 years old and had already reached mainstream success in the span of a couple of years, leaving the whole music industry changed when his death occurred.
  • The Beatles' first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show

    The Beatles had been receiving attention from the music industry in the UK, but this had been the first time they had made an appearance on American television, and it sure did make an impact on the youth on February 9th, 1964.
  • Woodstock Music and Art Fair

    A three-day event for many artists to be brought together was held and almost a half a million attended and about 32 acts performed, and became a major force in changing and bringing together all genres and cultural backgrounds of music.
  • The Launch of MTV

    The biggest music video television show ever started out somewhere. It was on August 1st, 1981, with The Buggles' music video "Video Killed the Radio Star" and have been changing the music scene ever since.
