  • Yalta Conference

    Yalta Conference
    This was a meeting to split up germany into zones. They were owned by the USSR and western countries. This also sparked the Cold War.This was also know as the Agornaut conference.

  • Iron Curtain

    Iron Curtain
    Thsi was the division of Europe. The Soviets had owned the north side and the U.S had owned the south side. The name of the wall was the iron curtain because it was named after Stalin which was known as the man of steel.

  • Berlin Airlift

    Berlin Airlift
    The purpose of this event was to help rebuild Europe. There were packages dropped in Europe every hour on the hour. This also could have been known as the Marshall Plan.

  • Korean War

    Korean War
    This war was between North and South Korea. North Korea was trying to spread Communism. The U.S did not want that so they joined in. Many people died and were injured and yet by the end of the war everything was still the same except for the casualties.

  • Vietnam War

    hen the U.S was trying to stop the spread of cpmmunism they ahd to help South Vietnam. They went aginst North Vietnam and North Vietnam won.

  • Great Leap Forward

    This happened under the ruling of Mao Zedong. At first everybody loved him and thought he was great. Then his plan failed and he was not so great anymore.

  • U-2 Incident

    Tjis was when the U.S had launched an unmanned spy plane into the air. Soon after the Soviets saw it the then shot it down.

  • Space Race

    This was part of the competition part of the Cold War. The U.S and the Soviets were trying to make their country look good. We raced to see who can get the first space craft up in space.

  • The Building Of The Berlin Wall

    This event was when the Berlin Wall was being built during the nights of August 12th and the 13th. It was first built with cinderblocks then later on it was built out of concrete and topped with barbed wire.

  • The Invasion Of Afghanistan

    The Soviet Union wanted support from communist governments. During that time there was an Afghanistan war going on and the Soviets intervened. Also there were communist rebelloions and the Soviets wanted to get rid of them.
