Twoflower arrives Ankh Morpork for the first time which makes him the first tourist in the history of the Discworld. While Twoflower rents a room at the Broken Drum a wizard named Rincewind spies him and his walking luggage full of gold.
-
The currency in the Agatean Empire exists solely of pure gold coins which makes them a lot more valuable in places like Ankh Morpork where gold is a rare mineral. Therefore Rincewind sees Twoflower's arrival as an opportunity to become his personal guide and therefore getting paid more than everyone could ever had dreamed of. Of course without telling Twoflower about the worth of his gold.
-
While guiding Twoflower around Ankh Morpork Rincewind notices a wierd instrument used to create paintings of whatever it points at. He examines it further and relises that there is a small man living inside the weird box who paints whatever the box points at.
-
Rincewind does not want to be responsible for Twoflower and his incompetence about Ankh Morpork. As a result, Rincewind tries to flee the city in hope of getting away from his responsibilities.
-
Before he gets away the Patrician (the mayor of ruler of the city) "captures" him and commisions Rincewind to protect Twoflower. In case Rincewind tries to lure away from his duty he will risk pain worse than death.
-
Twoflower has unknowingly been captured by the Thieves Guild Leader. With Twoflower's absent, his wandering luggage is stuck following Rincewind. If it hadn't been for the luggage Rincewind probably would have escaped the city, but with a creepy slow walking luggage following arround the only resonable solution is to find Twoflower and hand over his luggage.
Unfortunately a huge fight has occured at the Broken Drum and Rincewind and Twoflower has to flee the city before it gets burned down -
Life is not all fun and games in the woods. Wolves, bears and snakes are all animals that can lead to trubble. This is something Rincewind experienced and was forced to climb up a tree, while breaking some branches at the same time. Luckily a dryad was kind enough to save him.
-
It turns out Rincewind was not actually saved by the dryad. As a punishment for hurting their tree they have decided to kill him. However, by using the dryads own magic he manages to teleport to a temple: the temple of Bel-Shamharoth.
-
They met Hrun the Barbarian who using his magic sword were able to rescue Twoflower and Rincewind from Bel-Shamharoth. The only reason why they got in trouble in the temple was because Twoflower used the word "eight". Such a number can trigger the most terrifying magic
-
They eventually arrive at the upside-down mountain of Wyrmberg where Hrun and Twoflower are captured by dragonriders! What will Rincewind do?
-
While hiding from the dragonriders Rincewind finds Hrun's sword Kring. Rincewind's plans were originally to safily wander back home, but Kring orders him to save both Hrun and Twoflower. Why, Asks Rincewind. The sword flies up to his throat. Rincewind thought that was a reasonable reason.
-
Because of Rincewind's heroic abilities he manages to get himself in trouble and Rincewind becomes the who has to be rescued. Together these two try to rescue Hrun who, believe it or not, have rescued himself all ready.
-
After everyone have been rescued, they fly away until their newly aquired dragon disappears when they fly to far from Wyrmberg. Not so long after they take a brief visit to our own world while forgetting about their own. This visit is only brief and they are soon on their way to the Rimfall.
-
After almost falling over the Rimfall and into the unknown a sea troll called Thetis rescues them. Thetis brings them to his house in the kingdom of Krull
-
Luckily, Lady Luck desides that it would not be very lucky if our heroes ended as unlucky sacrifices. To their own luck she sets them free.
-
Twoflower and Rincewind reunite with the luggage and Thetis before hijacking with the Potent Voyager. This takes them on a journey far beyond what they know.
