    They settled here and near the Assinboine rivers and developed there ways of life and there traditions. This place is currently southern Manitoba.

    Selkrik brought many people to Canada and they found the red river valley. By setteling here they could farm and manintian the way of life they were used to.

    In the red river valley there was pemmican which was a good source of food for the colinists and it was there main source of food so this proclamation was sent out, preventing them to being able to export this food becuase the colinists needed it to survive so they wouldn't starve.

    Thay had much discussion and on this day it was passed by the house of commons that Manitoba could be a province.
