This was the course of the cold war. -
The beginning of the policy of containment.
The policy of containment was the beginning of the U.S.'s strategy to stop the spread of communisim from USSR (modern day russia). This was to happen through the four point plan. It was a plan developed in the Truman Doctrine, as of which was supposed to help rebuild all of the European war-torn countrys in return for thier turn to democracy. -
NATO and WARSAW
The United States and 11 other Western nations formed the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). And the soviets formed warsaw with thier allies. -
The neuclear threats/USSR sets off A-bomb
There was really no actual date when U.S. and USSR started threatening nuclear warfare, It really happened throughout the war and got more heated with every event. After USSR successfuly launched and detonateted a neuclear bomb it started. -
The start of the berlin wall
Because of the Nato and Warsaw tensions and the policy of containment being carried out by the U.S. USSR built the berlin wall as a symbol of power and to isolate east germany. -
The cuban missile crisis
U.S. sattelites had reported sights of USSR neuclear warheads in cuba. As a retort the U.S. shut off all global cuban connections. -
The end of the berlin wall and the cold war
The Berlin wall came down with the fall of the people that built it. The war was over USSR lost power and Germany Became Germany. "Twas a joyous day!"
