    The Iron curtain was a physical barrier that seporated parts of Europe after World War II

  • The Berlin Airlift

    The USSR blocked off eastern Europe from Western Europe, depriving the eastern half food and and other necessities. The United States and United Kingdom had to airlift food to the people in the eastern Europe parts.

  • End of Berlin Blockade

    The USSR stopped the blockade sperating Eastern and Western Europe.

  • Space Rsce

    The USSR sent the first person into space

  • Dwight D. Eisenhower became president

    The United States got a new leader during the Cold War.

  • Space Race

    The USSR sent the first animal into space.

  • Bay of Pigs

    The CIA trained cuban exiles and sent them back to Cuba to overthrow Fedel Castro and the Communist government. Cuba was aware of the attack making the attack unsuccessful.

  • The Berlin Wall

    The Berlin Wall was built seperating East and West Germany

  • Cuban Missile Crisis

    The US governement believed that the USSR had nuclear missiles in Cuba and set up a blockade blocking USSR ships from reaching Cuba. The USSR later agreed to remove all missiles from Cuba and the United States agreed not to invade Cuba.

    President John F. Kennedy was assassinated

  • Space Race

    The United States were the first to send man to the moon.

  • SALT

    The Strategic Arms Limitations Treaty was signed by the US and USSR

  • End of the Space Race

    The US and USSR worked together on the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project ending the space race

  • The Fall of the Berlin Wall

    the Berlin wall was torn down and later on East and West Germany reunited

    The US and USSR signed the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty

    Russia recognized the end of soviet Russia esentially ending the Cold War
