    After being informed of the North Korean invasion, United States President Harry Truman ordered U.S. troops into action under the banner of the United Nations. 15 other countries including Canada rallied to the call for fighting forces to aid the beleaguered Republic of Korea Army. Five other nations offered assistance, but for political expediency opted to supply medical services rather than send their citizens into combat roles.

One representative (Blair Seaborn) was even involved in secretly exchanging messages between the U.S. and North Vietnam on behalf of the Americans, with the approval of the Canadian government.

    The Berlin Wall was built to keep people from Eastern Berlin escaping to the west. It divided families as well as Germany. It was not something the German people ever wanted. When the Soviet Union fell, East Germany made the decision to get rid of the wall. They tore it down and allowed people to travel more or less freely over the border with the West. Within a couple of years, they reunified cash-strapped East Germany with the more prosperous West Germany and they became one nation again
