  • Yalta Conference

    The Yalta Conference was the meeting of the heads of government of the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union, represented by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and General Secretary Joseph Stalin. The meeting was to discuss the re-establishment of Europe
  • Potsdam Conference

    The three nations were represented by Communist Party General Secretary Joseph Stalin, Prime Ministers Winston Churchill and later, Clement Attlee, and President Harry S. Truman. The goals of the conference also included the establishment of post-war order, peace treaties issues, and countering the effects of war.
  • Creation of the UN

    The Berlin Blockade/Airlift was one of the first major international crises of the Cold War. Their aim was to force the western powers to allow the Soviet zone to start supplying Berlin with food and fuel, giving the Soviets practical control over the entire city. In response, the Western Allies organized the Berlin Airlift to carry supplies to the people in West Berlin.
