The slaves rebelled on the eighth day of the voyage, but the slaves did not succeed and the crew ended up killing eight of the slaves and wounding several others.

By the time the Sally reached Rhode Island the casualty count was already up to 88 slaves that had not made the trip out of the 196 slaves that started the trip. When the crew auctioned the slaves off there were only a dozen left.
