  • The battles of Lexington and Concord

    The battles of Lexington and Concord
    This was the first military engagements of the Revolutionary War. Liutenent Colonel Francis Smith ordered his army from Britan to destroy militia that was hidden in concord. The first shot was fired at Lexington. This shot was known as " the shot heard round the world". (before this battle occured Paul Revere, William Dawes, and John Hancock warned the people at Lexington that the British were coming.) The americans celebrated their victory after the won this war.
  • The Battle of Chelsea Creek

    The Battle of Chelsea Creek
    This was known as the battle of Noodle's Island, the Battle of Hog Island, and the Batlle of Chelsea Estuary. This British aimed to remove all of the hay and livestock out of this island. During this battle it contained the first naval capture of the wars.
  • Battle of Bunker (Breeds) Hill

    Battle of Bunker (Breeds) Hill
    This was one of the most important vitories of the war of independence. The battle was caused because colonists found out that the British were planning to capture Dorchester Heights. The colonists felt the need to protect their land; but after a lot of fighting the British won.
  • The Battle of Quebec

    The Battle of Quebec
    This battle started when the American forces tried to occupy and take control of the city of Quebec. Due to bad timing and bad weather it ended with the American leader, Richard Montgumary dead. 400 soldiers were also captured by the British. Due to horrible circumstances the Americans lost and the British had another victory.
  • Battle of Long Island

    Battle of Long Island
    In this battle, Washington realized British troops were coming to try and take Long Island so he ordered his troops to come and be waiting for their arrival. Listening to their commander, his troops waited on the Long Island River. During the battle 900 american soldiers were either killed, kidnapped, or wounded. Washington gave up and pulled his remaining army out of Long Island. The British celebrated yet, another win.
  • The Battle of Fort Washington

    The Battle of Fort Washington
    This battle was started by the Britih making a plan to try and capture Fort Washington. This was a hard battle and during it, 84 americans were killed and 374 were wounded. After too many injuries and deaths, Washington had to surrender and the British won.
  • The Battle of Trenton

    The Battle of Trenton
    This was the battle when Washington decided to create a plan to attack the Hessians on Christmas day. He knew that the Hessians would be celebrating and drinking and would not be prepared. Washington and his army of american soldiers crossed the Delaware River on Christmas night, and at 8 am he attacked the hessians. With much preparing, Washington and his army got to celebrate a victory!
  • Battle of Princeton

    Battle of Princeton
    American's and British were in another battle. The americans decided to fight the British. They ended up shifting into an open field and the British became heavily outnumbered. During the battle 450 british troops were killed and the Americans celebrated another win.
  • The Battle of Bennington

    The Battle of Bennington
    This battle took place in New York . two thousand american men led by General John Stark fought against Great Britan. During this battle Brita had 207 of it's troops killed and a large amount wounded. The Americans ended up winning this battle.
  • Battle of Brandywine

    Battle of Brandywine
    This battle was essential for the Americans to win. Washington and his soldiers were very discouraged from loosing a majority of battles, and they only had the occasional win. The British decided to seperate their army in multiply sections, and surround the americans. Washington became outmanuevered, and the Americans lost yet another battle.
