  • The Battle of Lexington and Concord

    The Battle of Lexington and Concord
    This was the first battle of the American Revolutionary War. It took place in Boston, Massachusetts. The American colonies managed to defeat the British army, making their intentions very clear to the Bristish army.
  • Fort Ticonderoga

    Fort Ticonderoga
    American troops managed to capture a British Fort; Fort Ticondergoa. Fort Ticondergoa was located at Lake Champlain in northeastern New York. This was important because the weapos and other supplies they collected where later used to fight other battles, and this prevented the Bristish from obaining the fort, which had many advantages including it's good location for the transferring of supplies.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    Although the name is Battle of Bunker Hill, this battle was actually fought on Breed’s Hill, which is next to Bunker Hill. The British won, but also lost about 40% of their men. This battle helped open the British's eyes to how costly and long this war would be, and despite their lost the Americna colonist still seemed to believe that they won in some ways and this sent a message to the British.
  • The Battle of Long Island (Brooklyn Heights)

    The Battle of Long Island (Brooklyn Heights)
    This took place in New York, which was a major importance to the American troops, because it helped with communiction between the northern and southern colonies. The British succesfully made the American colonits evacuate New York. This really put the colonist down, and did make communications much more difficult.
  • The Battle of Trenton

    The Battle of Trenton
    This battle took place in Trenton, New Jersey. The British had joined powers with the Hessian troops. The American colonists were still able to defeat them This helped tremendiously with the confidence level of the American troops and also helped boost the amount of poeple who inlisted to join the American trioops.
  • Battle of Oriskany

    his was one of the bloodiest battles of the American Revolutionary War. The British attempted to raise the siege, but the colonists ambushed their force. One of the few battles in which almost all the participants were Native Americans. The colonists won this battle.
  • Saratoga County, New York

    Saratoga County, New York
    This event took place in Saratoga County, New York. This battle is considered the turning point in the war. The American colonist were the winners of this war, and the British's defeat really pushed the Frech to join the colonists side. This battle forced the British commander in charge, John Burgoyne, back to Britian in disgrcrace and with no more chances to command.

    One of the worse losses for Conintal Army. Because of poor leadership, General Charles Cornwallis was removed from comand and replaced with Nathanael Greene. British victory.
  • Battle of Cowpens

    Battle of Cowpens
    Had a devasting effect on the British soldiers, but had an amazing effect on the colonial soldiers confidence. It was a Colonial Victory.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    victory officially ending the war and signing of the treaty of paris, Colonial Victory. The colonists were now seperatated from British control.
