  • Proclamation of 17673

    Colonists wereunable to move westward because the land passed the Appalachian Mountains was reserved for the Native Americans.
  • Stamp Act

    This act required colonists to pay a tax on printed materials. Colonists were angry and felt like their freedom was being threatened.
  • Quartering Act

    This act gace soldiers a place to stay. The colonists had to provide them with fuel, candles, beer and transportation.
  • Townshend Act

    CCharles imposed tax on glass, lead, paper and tea in a secretive way so that colonists wouldn't know they were paying tax.
  • Boston Massacre

    Mob of colonists in Boston began to harass the British troops and the troops opened fire.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Gave British company complete monopoly of the American Tea Business. 340 chests of tea were smashed.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Laws passed by the Britich parliament meant to punish the colonists for throwing the tea into the Boston harbor.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Planned to seize colonial gunpowder and armor and capture the rebel leaders.
  • First Continental Congress

    Representatives form the 13 colonies gathered together in Philadelphia to protect the rights.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    British fought against the Americans atop a hill. At first, the British were forced to retreat but soon after came back and injured many americans as well as killed. The Americans then were forced to retreat.
  • The Battle of Saratoga

    They secured the critical French alliance and provided monetary and military support.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    The French navy set up a blockade and kept the British ships from rescuing soldiers.
  • Treaty of Paris

    The signing of it brought the Revolutionary war to an end.
