  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    A squad of British soldiers heard that one of the sentrys were being harrassed by the colonists with snowballs. The soldiers shot in the crowds multiple times. 3 were killed immediately, 2 died later of motral wounds. One of the man shot was of black descent. The officer and his troops were later trailed for thier actions.
  • Bosotn Tea Party

    Bosotn Tea Party
    Colonists mad at the tazes, decided to in at night, with Samuel Adams and the sons of liberty, to board the ships. The ships, docked at harbor for two weeks, was at a standstill due to the governor of the town refused to let any tea come on land, while the Parliament refused to send the ships back. During the night, 342 chests of tea were thrown overboard, costing about 1 million today.It took nearly 3 hours for the 100+ colonists to dump the 45 tons (90,000 lb) of tea overboard.
  • Interoable Acts passed

    Interoable Acts passed
    Series of punitive laws, after the Boston tea Party. "The acts took away Massachusetts' self-government and historic rights." anf which made the colonists angry. 4 acts were included in this: Boston Port Act, massachusets government act, administration of justice act, and the quartering act.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    The British came at night to take weapons and gunpowder that the colonists had been looting secretly and hiding. Paul Revere found out and warned the colonists that the British were coming, and the small groups grabbed their guns and prepared to fight. When the British came, the colonists now ready, successfully drove the British out. While the British wasked back in defeat, they were constantly shot at by angry colonists.
  • Bunker Hill

    Bunker Hill
    A 2 day battle. The British served under General William Howe and the colonists under Colonel William Prescott. The British started to attack, and they took the hill but had heavy losses. The colonists fired until they were out of bullets, then quickly retreated. To save ammunition, Prescott told the men, "Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes." A famous quote to this day.
  • Quebec Battle

    Quebec Battle
    George Washington and the Continental Congress took action to attack Quebec to win forces from the French-Canadians there. although the city was being protected by British defenders... Their plan was to split the Continental Army in two and attack from 2 different places. One army, under General Montgomery, would attack from N.Y. The other would go from Massachusetts to Canada. However, the British were ready and the troops had to retreat.
  • Declaration of Independence wrote

    Soon after the British retreats from Boston, the C.C. created a committee to write a declaration of independence. Thomas Jefferson,'s (youngest member) job was drafting the document. Jefferson argued that under God, everyone is created equal. He said that the king is “unfit to be the ruler of a free people” because he had committed so many acts of tyranny, and telling the king off.
