    Royal Proclamation

    The British put an imaginary line on the Appalachian mountains separating the Indians from the Settlers. They did this to try to stop the fighting between them because of Settlers hunger for land. Although it failed because Settlers fought for the land they were hungry for.

    Sugar Act

    An act that put a tax on sugar when you buy it to increase money for the British. They thought the people wouldn't mind paying a little extra but the people got very angry at them and it made them protest a lot to try to get rid of the Act.

    Stamp Act

    An act that put a tax on any kind of paper products and also let British come into your home to search for smuggled items. At this Settlers became outraged and very mad. They protested and tried to abolish it. Eventually they did successfully abolish the Stamp Act and everybody was feeling better afterwards.

    Declaratory Act

    An Act thatmade the British Government have the full power and authority over which laws were passed. This made the Settlers very angry because the now had absolutely no say in which laws were passed.

    Townsend Act

    Gave the British to have the full authority to go into your home and search it for smuggled goods with just the suspicion of smuggled goods. It also placed a tax on pretty much everything that came through the Atlantic Ports. This made the people to start thinking of Independence.
  • Boston Massecre

    An event that happened on March 5, 1770 where protesters stood outside a British Customs house. They were there protesting against a small group of British Soldiers when suddenly the soldiers shot and killed 5 of the innocent protesters there. The rest of them ran away and told everybody. This story went to all of the newspapers everywhere almost instantly. This sparked the fight for independence or die.

    Tea Act

    An act that placed a tax on all tea that came to the colonies. This angered the colonists so much that it pushed them to rebel against the British by going into Boston Harbor and go onto a cargo ship with tons of tea on it and throw it all in the water. This event became known as The Boston Tea Party. This caused a spark of war beginning to come alive between the British and the Settlers.

    Intolerable Acts

    This act closed off the Boston port to the Colonists until they paid for the tea they dumped into the ocean. This cut off all supplies to the Colonists until they paid the consequences. This made the hostility towards the British and now the spark had turned into a small fire.

    Quebec Act

    This act gave all the territory from Quebec all the way until the Ohio River. This made the colonists very angry and now the small fire had turned into a roaring flame. This also made the colonists declare independence from British and declare war against them.
