Taylor Swift is a singer and songwriter who was born the 13th December 1989 in Pensilvania, US.
When she was 14 she moved to Nashville, Tenessee to start her music career. -
In 2006 she released her debut album named “Taylor Swift” which made her a country music star. Her third single “Our Song” made her the youngest person to write a song without help from anybody else and it was number one on many streaming lists. She also received a Grammy nomination for “Best new artist”. -
In 2008 she released her second album “Fearless”. Her singles “You Belong With Me” and “Love Story” were a big success and it became the most selled album in the US and it won 4 Grammys. This album also won several other awards. -
In 2010 her third album “Speak Now” came out. She started the Speak Now World Tour and her single “Mean” won 2 Grammys. -
In 2012 she released her album “Red” which was considered her first pop music album and which was also a great success internationally. Her singles “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and “I Knew You Were Trouble” became number one on a lot of streaming lists. -
Her fifth album, 1989, was released in 2014 and it sold more than 1.000.000 copies during the first week it was published. Her singles “Shake it Off" and “Blank Space” soon became number one. Her single “Style” was also in the top 10 of many lists and her music video for “Bad Blood” beat the record of most seen video in a day in YouTube. 1989 won 3 Grammys and it became Taylor Swift’s most successful album. -
In 2016 Taylor Swift began to receive a lot of hate. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian called her a liar when Taylor claimed for the insults that Kanye said to her in his song “Famous”. She was also hated for writing songs about her break-ups and people considered she had dated too many people. They began to call her a snake and she disappeared from social media for a year. -
In 2017 she came back with her album “Reputation” which talked about her bad reputation and all the people that had hurt her in the past few years. One of her most successful singles from this album was “Look What You Made Me Do”. -
In 2019 she released her singles “Me!” and “You Need To Come Down” which both became part of her seventh album “Lover”. This album was completely the opposite from “Reputation”: full of colors and with love songs. It was also nominated for 3 Grammys. -
In 2020, in quarantine, Taylor had a lot of time to write songs and in July she released her album “Folklore”. “Folklore” is an indie music album and its most successful song is “Cardigan”. It won a Grammy for “album of the year”. -
In December she released “Evermore” which is also an indie music album. Its most successful song is “Willow” and it was nominated for a Grammy. -
In 2021, Taylor Swift announced that she is going to re-record her 7 first albums and so far, she has re-recorded “Fearless” and “Red”. She did a 10min version of her song “All Too Well” in which she added lyrics that weren’t included in the original version and it was number one in a lot of streaming lists.
