    The stamp act was a law passed by Paliment that placed a tax on printed matrials such as legal documents, newspapers and playing cards. The colonists felt that it was unfair because they didn't have a say in government.     The Townshend Acts was a law that placed a tarriff or a tax on all imported goods like paper, wool and tea. In all the colonies, colonists decided to boycott British imports. A boycott is a refusal to buy British goods.     A writer named Mercy Otis Warren encouraged people to stop buying imported goods. Rather than buying British tea they made "Liberty tea" out of berries and herbs. Groups called the Daughters of Libertyformed in the colonies. To help the no wool problem women in these groups began weaving cloth instead of wool.     March 5, 1770 colonists started insulting and throwing shells, icicles, and snowballs at British soldiers. One of the soldiers paniced and fired. The other soldiers thought this was a command to fire so, they shot and killed five people. The soldiers were put on trial defeneded by John Adams. They were found not guilty law.umkc.edu

    Samuel Adams thought that it took too long to give news to the other colonies . So he made the Comittee of Correspondence in Boston 1772. These commities were formed in all over the colonies. Then they would write about local news and give them to express riders.     In 1773 parliment passed the Tea Act that placed a law on all imported tea and tea could only be shipped from the East India Company. The colonists declared that ships bringing British tea to the colonies would not be allowed to unload in any colonial port. In late 1773 3 British ships came into Boston port carrying tea on December 16th. That night the Sons Of Libetry disguised them selves as Mohawks and dumped the tea into the harbor.
