    Rev Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet became the principal of the Connecticut Asylum for Education and Instruction of Death and Dumb person. The first residential school in the United States. This was the start of something great.
  • Braille Code

    Louis Braille publishes the Braille Code. Louis accidentally blinded himself while working in his fathers workshop. So Louis created these codes for the blind to be able to read.
  • Training

    The first training program opens in Massachusetts. This training are to help the students with any needs. The teacher should be able tp know what to do at the end of the training.

    The Boston School for the Deaf- Mutes is founded under the direction of the Boston School Board. Is is the first free public day school- for the deaf ever establish. They provided the best care for there students.
  • Eye Dogs

    Eye Dogs
    Guide dogs are assistance dogs trained to lead blind and visually impaired people. Seeing eye dogs for individuals with blindness are introduced in the United States. These dogs guide them around.
  • Brown vs The Board Of Education

    Brown vs The Board Of Education
    The U.S Supreme issued a landmark civil right decision. This was to not separate the children of similar age. Segregation of white and colored children in public schools has detrimental effect upon the colored children.

    Congress enacted the Elementary and Secondary Education Act to address the inequality of educational opportunity for underprivileged children. This landmark legislation provided resources to help ensure that disadvantaged students had access to quality education. This helped the children who have a disability.
