  • The Spanish-American War

    The Spanish-American War

    • The Spanish-American War was a war between Spain and the U.S.. The U.S. army was led by Theodore Roosevelt, the United State's future President.
    • "And it all started with a big bang… BANG!!!!!" (TBBT Theme Song). A torpedo hit the USS Maine, causing it to blow up and kill American Soldiers.
    • Along with other grudges that the U.S. had with Spain, the war only lasted 6 days……… not even a week!!!!!
  • THE MAINE'S ON FIRE!!!!!

    • On February 1898, on the 15th, a the USS Maine was hit by torpedo, by Spain (no one really knows), and sunk, killing 260 men on board.
    • The Maine was sent there to keep Spain from getting Cuba, which we basically owned at the time.
    • This was supposedly what triggered the Spanish-American War to happen.
  • "This Is WAR!!!" Pres. Mckinley to Spain!!!

    • President Mckinley tells the Congress to declare war on Spain NOW!!!
    • The US army was led by Theodore Roosevelt.
    • President Mckinley was assassinated shortly after, meaning Theodore R. was going to be President afterwards.

  • The Guantanamo Bay Battle!!!

    • This lasted only a few days, and it was also called "The invasion of Guantanamo Bay".
    • It was right after the Battle of Santiago, so it was pretty short, due to lack of energy, basically.

  • The San Juan Hill Battle!!!!!

    • This was basically US trying to start the whole war-crap.
    • El Caney and San Juan Hill was the troops meeting point, which is where we fought.
    • Apparently, it only lasted near to about 6 days. Not even longer than a teenaged girls cramps, which probably would've spilled more blood.

  • The Santiago De Cuba Battle!!!!!

    • It was right after the San Juan Hill battle, where the US won again.
    • It was a naval battle, meaning it was fought with war-ships and torpedoes like the one that brought down the USS Maine…… Lol.
    • It, too, only lasted about 3 days, adding up to the 6 days I was talking about.
  • "We Surrender!!!" says Spain

    • The US is VICTORIOUS!!!
    • The Spanish surrender Santiago (more like ran away from it) to the US.
    • Spain and US formed an agreement, for Spain to leave Cuba alone, and for US not to attack them.

  • "Let's Call It Truce" - Spain & The U.S.

    • Spain kind of runs away from the US on the 6th day, causing it to be our victory!!!
    • Spain and US have an Armstice.
    • The End!!!

  • The Treaty of Paris (1898)

    • It was signed so that Spain would give up all of its territory to America and for them to go back to the Western hemisphere.
