    It was the most bloodiest and victorious battle for the American soldiers. The Spanish had diffulty holding the Americans back. The Americans came with full force and attacked from all sides of the area. Roosevelt achieves heroic stature for leading men up hill overlooking Santiago Harbor.

    At six o'clock in the morning the fighting begins. Americans show determination with thousands of men. But in the end they were defeated in this battle. The defenders won and out of 520 men, they were left with less than 100 and without a general leader.
