  In 1948, in South Africa, racist apartheid became legal due to new leaders.

  This act prohibits "blacks" and "whites" from doing anything together deemed "imoral."

  This act specifies that everone has to be classified as: black, white, or as colored.

  The ANC begins a new defiance campaign about the new apartheid laws and acts. This campaign is peacefule and is hoped to change the laws.

  In 1974, South Africa is expelled from the UN due to apartheid.

  Over 600 people killed in black protesting between security officers and the protesters themselves. These fights and uprisings started in Soweto South Africa.

  Steve Biko died in prison in 1977, which "sparked" national protests and revolts.
- 
  
  One township of South Africa begins to revolt against South Africa, causing a state of emergency.
- 
  
  In 1990, the ANC is finally unbanned as Mandela is later released from prison!
- 
  
  F. w. De Klerk releases Nelson Mandela from prision, along with the other blacks! Mandela was in prison for 27 years
- 
  
  In 1991, de Klerk and Mandela began working on a new constitution after aboloshing apartheid!
- 
  
  In 1994, Mandela is elected presidnet of South Africa!
