Jan van Riebeeck arrived to Cape of Good Hope
Jan van Riebeeck arrives in Table Bay in April 1652.
European settlement of South Africa began with the arrival of Dutch commander Jan van Riebeeck and his 90 men, who landed in 1652 at the Cape of Good Hope under instructions by the Dutch East India Company to build a fort and develop a vegetable garden for the benefit of ships on the Eastern trade route -

Gerard Sekoto
Gerard Sekoto, was a South African artist and musician. He is recognized as the pioneer of urban black art, social realism, and more recently as the father of South African art. He has had exhibitions in Paris, Stockholm, Venice, Washington, Senegal as well as in South Africa.
He had 8 daughters and 3 sons.

Australopithecus africanus specimen
Australopithecus africanus specimen also called "Mrs. Ples"
it is the most complete skull of an Australopithecus africanus specimen ever found in South Africa.
Mrs. Ples was discovered by Dr. Robert Broom and John T. Robinson on 18 April 1947.
it is 2.05 mya years old. -
