The first rising action is the hunters going back in time in a newly invented time machine.

The second rising action of the story is the Safari leaders teaching the hunters how to kill the dinosaur.

The climax of the story is when Eckels steps off the path and kills a butterfly. This then sets of what a series of events that lead to a completely changed America. This series of events is called the Chaos theory.

The falling action is when Travis, who is furious with Eckels, threatens to leave him in the past because he stepped on the butterfly.

The resolution occurs when the hunters return home to see that the U.S. has completely changed. Travis, who blames all of this on Eckels, then shoots Eckels with a loud sound of thunder.
