After Dumont, her owner does not keep his promise to Sojourner Truth, so then she escapes with her daughter. Later she sues Dumont for selling her son illegally. Then her son, Peter is returned to her, she was the first black woman in history to win a case against a white man. -

Sojourner Truth started telling her stories to her friend Oliver Gilbert. Olive wrote her story and helped her publish her book. The name of the book was called "The Narrator of Sojourner Truth". -

Death has Come
Sojourner Truth died in November and was buried in Battle Creek, Michigan. Her grave is in the Oak Hill Cemetery. She develops an infection from a front scares on her legs. The treatment sadly did not work and then Sojourner died at home.
