    Marco Polo returned from China in 1324. When he returned he wrote about all the great things and good they had. Examples were chinese tea, spices, and silk.

    Year 1492- Christopher Columbus
    In 1492 he crosses the Atlantic Ocean with the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria. He was hoping to reach for the east indies in India. He actually reached the west indies which were islands in the Caribbean.

    Year 1584-1590: The Lost Colony (Roanoke)
    John White carried over 100 men, women and children to the Roanoke Island. After leaving for awhile him and his men returned to find nobody was there but the words "croanoke" carved in a tree
  • Year 1000- Vikings

    Year 1000- Vikings
    The vikings was led by Leif Erikson and discovered the Americas. They didn't settle there because of the Native American clashes.

    The 13 colonies consisted of the New England, Southern, and Middle colonies. In all these colonies there were Pennsylvania, Delaware, Georgia, New Jersey, Connecticut, Georgia, Massachusetts, South Carolina, Virginia, New Hampshire, North Carolina, New York and Rhode Island.

    The sons of liberty was a secret organization lead by Samuel Adams which was formed to protect the rights of the colonists and to also fight against the unfair taxation.

    This event was the killing of five colonists.King George the third was the one who started calling it the Boston Massacre.

    The Boston Tea Party took place because of colonists didn't want to pay taxes on the British tea. Three British ships were attacked by a group of colonists and they dumped 342 chests on tea into the Boston harbor. Samuel Adams led the group of colonists

    The purpose of the sugar act was to inflict a tax of six pence per gallon of molasses. The act was repealed which deducted the tax to one penny per gallon of molasses.

    The stamp act was implemented for the purpose of taxing every piece of paper the colonists printed. Things such as playing cards, newspapers, and legal documents were all taxed. The act was later repealed in March of 1766.

    Another name for the Coercive Acts was the intolerable acts. The purpose was to penalize the people of Boston for the Boston tea party.

    This act was passed for the purpose of requiring in the colonies to house British soldiers in barracks.

    The Edenton Tea Party was a political protest helped by fifty one woman which was held because of the Tea Act by the British Parliament.

    The Fist Continental Congress was a meeting held by a representative from each colony to discuss the intolerable acts held out by the British Parliament.

    This act was part of the coercive acts, which made the city's residents pay for the nearly one million dollars of tea dumped into the Boston Harbor.

    The first battle fought in the American Revolution. The Americans won.
  • September 19,1777- Battle of Saratoga

    September 19,1777- Battle of Saratoga
    This battle was important because it showed the French that the Americans could actually win the Revolution against the British. This resulted in the support of the French for the Americans in this war.
  • September 28, 1781- The Battle of Yorktown

    September 28, 1781- The Battle of Yorktown
    The last battle fought in the American Revolution. The Americans won and this battle ended the Revolution.

    November 1777- The articles of confederation
    The articles told us how to run a government. The biggest issue with the articles of confederation was that there was only one branch to govern the entire body.

    The British came to take weapons from the colonists and someone shot and started the Revolutionary War.
