    In 1519, the Spanish ordered Pineda to explore the gulf of mexico. He was important because his map was forwarded to the governor.

    Cortes conquered the Aztecs in Mexico and claimed the land for Spain. It was important because he was a Spanish conquistador and he defeated the Aztecs.

    Fray Marcos and Esteban were looking for the 7 cities of gold. They went to a Indian village and Esteban got killed by the Indians. Fray Marcos reported that he saw the seven cities of gold himself. He also reported that Esteban was dead.

    Coronado was searching for the seven cities of gold. He had a guide named "The Turk" that guided him. When they found no cities of gold, Coronado killed him. He buried him and then, digged him up to throw him into the river. Coronado was important because, he discovered more Indians and discovered the southern half of America.

    His leader, Hernando de soto, were looking for the seven cities of gold and when Mosocos came back to De Soto, he reported that there was no gold, harsh land, and mean Indians. Hernando died of a fever.
