Jamestowns First Slaves
The first 20 ,Indentured ,African slaves were brought to Jamestown, Virginia. These slaves were brought to Virginia to plant the "cash crop." Tobacco. -
Massachusetts Passes A Law
Massachusetts was against slavery and passed a law.From the Body of Liberties.
"There shall never be any bond slavery, villeinage, or captivity amongst us unless it be lawful captives taken in just wars, and such strangers as willingly sell themselves or are sold to us. And these shall have all the liberties and Christian usages which the law of God established in Israel concerning such persons cloth morally require. This exempts none from servitude who shall be judged thereto by authority." -

In 1661the Virginia house of Burgesses passed a law making endentured Africans workers for life. -
Virginia law
One year after making a law saying endentured Africans slaves would now be workers for life. There is a new law made, If a child is born with an enslaved mom he/she will inherit his/her moms slave status. -
Carolina Slavery Increases
The population of slaves increased in Carolina. The reason was because the rice culture was introduced to Carolina. Rice was a very hard and back breaking crop to plant, and it was required for it to have many people working on this crop. -

Virginia has had more than 16,000 enslaved Africans. From the beggining 1619 slavery increased in Jamestown Virginia. Slavery increased because the people in the colony went mad planting tobacco everywhere and they needed the slaves help to plant the crop. -

In 1712, New York, the slave revolt was when the slaves went mad. 23 slaves killed 9 whites and hurt 6 more.Many blacks went to jail some were even executed. -

The American Colonization was founded. The reasoning was to help free blacks resettle in Africa.These free blacks were slaves. These black slaves bought their own freedom. -
Nat Turner
Nat Turner, an enslaved baptist, is a leader of a violent rebelling in Virginia. About 57 whites are killed. In return the whites killed 200 Africans and later sentenced Nat turner to death. Nat Turner was hanged.1800-1831 -
Thirteenth Amendment
The thirteenth amendment in U.S. puts an end to slavery throughout the country.
