Germany conquers Poland. The German S.S. immediately begins action against Polish Jews. The Nazi Reichskommisar for Jewish affairs, Reinhard Heydrich, orders that Polish Jews be gathered into ghettos near railways for fuure "final goal" (Sept. 21, 1939). -

Concentration Camp system begins, expands.
Implementing of an extensive concentratiion camp complex begins near Oscwieczin (Auschwitz) in eastern Poland.
Eventually, the Nazis would have a system of more than thirty camps around occupied Europe. -
The "Final Solution" is ordered by Hitler, beginning at Auschwitz.

Nazi implementation of Jewish genocide is leaked to the West, with the U.S. and U.K. threatening retaliation if true.
In the summer of 1942 detailed information that the Nazis are systematically implementing the extermination of Europe's Jews is leaked to the World Jewish Organization and passed on to Allies. In December, 1942 the British and U.S. governments make the claims public (in broad terms) warning that these crimes will be punished.
