By doing this he influced other groups in european socirty to actully question authority of the church, which created new denonminations

    John Calvin of Geneva was inspired by Martin Luther these. He elaboarted on the ideas and created Calvinism. This theological creedo became the domince in the New England Puritains as well as other settlers.

    A group of Separaists in Holland, negoiated with the Virginia Company, for a settlement in the New World. They headed of on the Mayflower. They missed their destination and instead of arriving in Jamestown they arrived in New England in 1620.

    Charles I ignored Parliament and began the "anti-puritain" persecution. Puritains feared for their faith and for England's future. They decided to leave England and went to form an establishment in the new world. By 1630, they arrived in the Massachutes Bay colony.

    The Massachutes Bay Colony was a strictly puritan colony. Everyone had to worship God in the Puritan way. Roger Williams, didn't agree with their views and was convicted of heresy. He wanted religious freedom so he created the Rhode Island colony
