John Atanasoff and Clifford Berry built the first electronic digital computer. We're one step closer to the modern-day computers we all know and love. -
hallucinogenic properties of LSD
Swiss chemist, Albert Hofmann discovered the hallucinogenic properties of LSD. Without this discovery there is a good chance the "hippy movement" wouldn't have happened in the 70s. -
aqualung
Emile Gagnan and Jacques Cousteau invent the aqualung. This made deep sea diving possible. -
atomic bomb
The atomic bomb is invented. The deadliest weapon of it's time and 2nd deadliest today. -
microwave oven
The microwave oven invented by Percy Spencer. Just ask a teenager how important of an invention this is! -
Mobile Phone
Mobile phones first invented. Although cell phones were not sold commercially until 1983. It's a little bulkier than the iPhone, but a cellphone nonetheless. This will revolutionize communication. -
transistor
Bardeen, Brattain, and Shockley invent the transistor. The transistor is an influential little invention that changed the course of history in a big way for computers and all electronics. -
Tupperware seal
Earl Silas Tupper patented the Tupperware seal. Anybody who likes to cook knows the importance of this. -
Frisbee
The Frisbee invented by Walter Frederick Morrison and Warren Franscioni. This is probably the biggest classic in the toy industry. -
Velcro
Velcro invented by George de Mestral. Velcro was my saving grace in elementary school. It saves tons of time and you can avoid learning to tie knots. (that's what I did) -
Jukebox
Robert Hope-Jones invented the Wurlitzer jukebox. Aaaayyyee!
