    The Burundian President and President Habyarimana (The President of Rwanada) are both killed when their plan was show down as it was trying to land at Kigali Airport. It's believed that the attack was caused by Hutu extremists.

    Refugees running away from the RPF move to north-western Rwanda & flood into Zaire. About 10,000 refugees per hour cross the border into the town of Goma. The massive entrance causes a severe humanitarian tragedy, as there is a lack of food, water & shelter for them.
