    The Enlightenment

    This was the age of reason. The philosophers in The Enlightenment had many new idead on equality. Their ideas were later capitalized aginst England in The Declaration of Independance
    3- It wasn't used in the revolution except in The Declaration of Independance, so it does have an affect, but not much.

    French and Indian War

    The French and Native Americans fought aginst England and the colonists, the war lasted a total of 7 years.
    2- The actual war didn't make the colonists mad, it was the heavy taxing on the colonists after the war that made them mad.
  • Proclamation Line of 1763

    The imaginary line across the Appalachian Mountains that "restricted" the colonists from settling across that line. Since they didn't monitor it, nobody listened to it.
    3- It bothered the colonists that they would restrict them, but nobody monitored it so nobody listened to it

    The main idea of the Stamp Act was to charge peoples paper. The Britsh said that everything printed had to be from England on a special taxed paper.
    5- This was at the beginning, so it was enough to make people mad,but not a full revolt.

    In total it killed 5 people, but the colonists lied about it and made it seem that the British fired on them for no reason. It made lots of people mad and become in favor of independance.
    4- The colonists made it seem like a big deal, but in reality not many people died. It did change the views of some colonists though.

    The Tea Act was basicly a tax on tea. All tea had to come from London and that tea had a special tax that the colonists had to pay.
    7- It made the colonists really mad and caused the Boston Tea Party. It basicly started it all

    The colonists dressed up as Native Americans and threw the tea off of the British boats. The people who did this was an activist group called the Sons of Liberty, hundeds of cases of tea were thrown off that boat.
    7- This is what started the rebellion. This raid was sucessful and the colonists persevered to eventually win freedom.

    The Intolerable Acts were Englands reaction to the Boston Tea Party, they gave them 3 laws. 1. No trial by jury in the colonists. 2. Colonists are forced to house and feed English soldiers, if they need it. 3. No ships are allowed to enter or leave the Boston harbor.

    Delegates from 12 of the colonies met in Philadelphia about the Intolerable Acts. They wrote a document asking King George III to repeal the acts, but he didn't.
    6- It made the colonists pretty mad at England and was enough to make them start a revolution.

    After the Brittish thought the colonists were holding guns, they invaded the places. The colonists used guerrila warfare and ended up loosing.
    4- The colonists lost so this lowered hopes, but it made them mad at the Brittish.

    They met in 1776 to discuss the battles in Massachusetts, their views were split half and half about independance.
    10- This was the committee that wrote the Declaration of Independance, without this committee we wouldn't be free.
