    The Proclamation of 1763
    This act was pasted by Britain to ban any colonists from settling in the area west of the appalachian mountain. The colonists were angered by this and thought they had the rights to live where they wanted.

    Britain passed an act on sugar,molasses, and other sweet things. From this act the colonists sent a petition to England and they boycotted the goods.

    Britain passed another act called the Quartering Act. It said colonists had to house and feed british soldiers. Colonists reacted to this by some refusing to let soldiers in their homes.

    Britain passed yet another act called the Stamp Act which said that colonists had to buy and add a stamp to wills, newspaper, etc. Colonists we angered at this and burned the stamped papers.

    Britain again passed yet another act called the Townshed Act that taxed imported goods like lead, tea, glass, etc. The colonists were mad and instead of still importing them they smuggled the goods.

    Boston Massacre
    One day many colonists lost their jobs, so they rioted on some british soldiers in an alleyway. Colonists were saying cruel words to the soldiers, throwing snow, rocks, and sticks at them in anger. One soldier mistakely heard fire from someone and thoguht it was the captain so he shot. Then everyone else started firing, and at the end 5 colonists were killed, 6 injured.

    Britain then again passed another act called the Tea Act that said tea must be imported from only British East India Co. The tea was taxed 3 pence per pound. This act put out mercants selling tea out of buisness. This gave Britain a monopoly on tea. This would soon lead to the Boston Tea Party.

    People of the 13 colonies dressed up as mohawks and dumped tea over in rage of the tea act. 90,000 pounds of tea in 342 containers were thrown overboard. 116 people participated in this rage. The tea destroyed was worth about 1 million dollars in are time now. Each full container weighed 400 pounds.

    Also known as the intolerable acts to the colonists. One act closed the port of boston until the tea dumped in the tea party was paid for. One banned town meetings. Another act strengthened the quartering act. Another one made trials for crimes moved to England.
  • Paul Revere's Ride

    Paul Revere's Ride
    At this night Paul Revere, Billy Dawes, and Sam Prescott rode around alerting towns that "the regulars were coming". British troops were going to Concord, MA to sieze weapons the rebels had hidden. Paul saw to lanterns at the Old North Church saying the british were coming by sea. On April 19, 1775 the british soldiers at Lexington, MA shot the first shots of the Revoluntionary War.

    British troops headed to Concord to take smuggled weapons but got halted by Minutemen at Lexington, MA. 8 farmers died at the little battle and it started the Revolutionary War. The first shot fired here was called "shot heard 'round the world" No one knows who shot that shot.
