    This was a period of western thought and culture. This brought us to our more modern western world. It was brought on by new sciences and philoshopies. I would rate this as a 5. I dont really think it was a huge aspect for the war but it did contribute to the modern technology and philosophies of today.

    The Proclamation of 1763 forbids colonists from settling est of the appalachian mountains to avoid conflict with the native americans. England was in debt to the war and created taxes to get England out of theier debt. I would rank this a 5 because this was the first time they were introduced to taxes which made the colonists mad.

    This was issused by King George the third. It was to organize Great Britain's North AMerican empire. I think it would be a 6 because Great Britain is tring to take control over the colonies and America.

    Five colonists died during this. Protestors fought with British troops in Boston. I would rate this a 6 because this lead to the Tea act and infuriated other colonists.

    This act was passed by the parliament. It was a direct tax on goods and everyone, rich or poor, had to pay it. I would rate this a 8 because this infuriated the colonists. In their defense, they boycotted all of the British goods and didn't buy any of them.

    This was a tax on tean. Before this, tea never had a tax placed on it. I would rate this a 7, because the British loved their tea and drank it everyday. They never had to tax tea and they were furious that it was starting to be taxed. This act lead to the Boston Tea Party.

    The tea act was a new tax in tea. The sons of liberty dressed up as indians and threw thousands of cases of tea out into the Boston Harbor. I woud rate this a 8 because this lead to the intolerbale acts.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    The British were mad about what happened and the Boston Tea Party. To punish the colonist, they decided to bring in 3 new acts: no trial by jury, house and feed english soldiers, and the harbour was shut down. This would be rated a 9 because this made the colonists extremely mad. They wanted to revolt but went to writing first, instead.
  • First Continental Congress

    Representatives from 12 of the colonies met in Philadelphia to adress the intolerable acts. They sent a letter to king George 3 asking him to repeal the acts and he didn't. I think this is a 7 because this made the representatives mad and led to the intolerable.
  • Lexington and Concord

    British troops believed that weapons were being stock-piled at Concord. They were confronted by the ilitia and farmers, and defeated them.The colonists used guerilla warfare tactics. I think this was a 5 because they did this unknowingly but wanted to double chack and make sure they weren't storing weapons.

    The declaration of Independence was written June 11, 1776 and declared independence from England.The ideas were not new, but were earlier expressed by John Locke. It was written by Thomas Jefferson.This could be rated a 10 because this had many lists of British Tyranny. It states that "given these circumstances, we not only had the right to become independent,it was our responsibility to do so." Declaration of Independnce
  • Second Continential Congress

    Second Continential Congress
    A meeting to discuss battle fought in Massachusetts. They were split about the issue of independence. Thomas Paine advocates independence as "common sense". The people agree and decide to write a declaration about independence. I would rate this a 9 because people wanted their independence and were not scared to fight for it.
