  • Proclamation Line of 1763

    Proclamation Line of 1763
    To avoid conflict with Native Americans, colonists were forbidden to move or settle west of the Appalachian Mountains.
    6 because caused people to want to go across the line and settle which would start conflict.
  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    American and England colonists fough against the French. England payed off their debt from the war by taxing the colonists.
    5 because the colonists didn't want to have to pay taxes on anything.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    All documents had to have a stamp on them, Colonists did not like this act so they boycotted British goods and refused to buy goods made in England. This act got repealed.
    7 because it affected people alot becuase they care about the way they live because they boycotted.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    An event that happened because of the stamp act when the colonial protesters clased with the British troops in Boston and caused 5 colonists lives.
    5 because it was important that because cared about the act but it caused people to loose their lives.
  • Tea Act

    This was a new tax on tea.
    7 because no one agreed with the idea of tax on tea and the disagreement caused the Boston Tea Party to happen.

    The Sons of Liberty protested against the tea act. they dressed like Indians and threw hundrens of cases of tea in to the Boston Harbor.
    9 because people didnt want to pay taxes and it caused the British to loose mostly all their tea.
  • Intlerable Acts

    Intlerable Acts
    The British came up with 3 new acts to punish the colonists because of the Boston Tea Party. 1. No trial and jury in the colonies. 2. Colonists forced to house and feed English soldiers. 3. No ships allowed to enter or leave Boston harbor.
    7 because it was important to punish people for their bad actions but at the same time people were just expressing the way they feel.
  • First Continental Congress

    First Continental Congress
    Representatives from 12 of the colonies met to adress the Intolerable Acts and asked King George III to repeal the acts but he didn't repeal them.
    6 because people were still being punished and they wernt happy about not having their full freedom.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    British troops believed that weapons were being piled in Concord. On the way to Concord the troops were stoped and confronted by farmers and an army in Lexington and the troops defeated the colonists at both Lexington and Concord.
    6 because each time the Britsh defeats a colony the more the coloniest will want to defeat the British in a revolution,
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    The Declaration of Independence stated the 13 colonies were indapendent states. It was an explination of why congress voted to declare independence from Great Britain.
    5 because people were happy that they gained independence.
  • Second Continental Congress

    Second Continental Congress
    Delegates meet to discuss the battles in Massachusettes but they were split 50/50 on the independance issue. Most of the delegates supported the idea of independence and wanted to create a committee to write a declaration.
    6 because people dissagreed about having independence.
  • The Enlightenment

    The Enlightenment
    It was a cultural movement of intellectuals in the European and American colonies. The Age of Enlightenment was to reform society with using reason and advanced knowledge in science.
    6 becuase the Elightenment had to deal with some religous things which cause colonists to express different opinions that everyone might not agree on.
