  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    The French and Indian war was the start of everything! It was were the British and the Colonists were allies and the French and the Indians were allies. They were fighting for the following: Land and trade routes...the land west of the colonies were beaver pelts are common and make a lot of money, they wanted the trade routes to move the beaver.
  • Proclamation Line

    Proclamation Line
    The King of Britain demanded the colonists, AFTER THE WAR, that they do not pass the appalacian mountains or the Proclamation Line becasue he wanted the land to himself...this angered the americans becasue they believe they earned that land after fighting for it in the French and Indian War. The Proclamation Line gave the colonists more motivation to fight for what they deserve.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was a very unfair tax on ALL printed goods. This was used to pay for the troops that were used in the French and Indian War. Instantly this act was met with a lot of resistance from the colonists. The Colonists would prtest by either boycotting or by having the top selling retailer refuse to sell the product. King George III soon dropped the Act but later on invented the Townshe acts (1766)
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was a confrontation between the british soldiers and a mob of mad colonists. The americans were taunting the soldiers by throwing ice balls to their faces and the militia had taken enough, a fire was shot which led to another and another and another, which then tuned into deaths. This act made a statement that Britain was in charge and was not afraid of anything.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    This was a rebellion to the Tea Act that was set into place by the british King, George III. The colonists boarded the ships and threw off all the tea that was onboard, approxamately 1-3 million dollars was thown into the river. This was important becasue King George III was wicked pissed and set into place the intolerable acts.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    The intolerable acts were somthing that would change the way the americans thought of the british for ever.
    1) Boston Port Act- No ships in and out of Boston Harbor
    2) Massachuettes Government Act- End all gov't in mass. bring in british gov't, which led to General Gage
    3) Justice Act- Any british soldier accused of a crime will be shipped to another country to be tried, which most likely would mean britain and being set free of the charge
    4) 2nd Quartering Act- any british soldier can home wit
  • The Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence
    The D.O.I was written by Thomas Jefferson. This document was passed on July 4th 1776, also known as INDEPENDENCE DAY He expresses the American mind. It basically states that America is starting a war against Britain. Thsi would lead to the Revolutioinary War. All of their hard work and they are now finally defending themselves, they are not taking anymore, they want to change.
