    End of the French and Indian War
    The causes of this event were because the british colonists wanted to move to the western region to find more usable farm land, but the british government said no. They said no because the indians would attact the colonists in the western regions and the king didnt want to send out troops. The kings actions made the colonists break out into war. Most of the colonists were french and at the conclution of this war the french lost almost all land in north america.

    King George the 3rd told the colonists that they could not move west of the appalation mts. after The colonists had moved there. He did this because there were horrible indian attacks in that area and he did not want to send troops. The colonists were furious that the king would not protect them. Even though the colonists were so angry, they ignored it and moved back east as the king commanded.

    The sugar act was a tax on sugar and molasses. The colonists responded with the saying-"No taxation without representaion". Then they started boycotting the taxes on sugar, and theuy smuggled sugar onto ships.

    The stamp act was a requirement for taxed stamps on legal documents (newspapers, dice cards,ect.). The colonists thought that this act was un fair because they had no representation in parlament.

    The Quartering Act
    The quartering act made colonists house the british soliders that were stationed in the colonies. The colonists thought of this as a violation of their rights and they were outraged and furious. The colonists refused to this and eventually showed violence towards the british soliders.
  • Townshend Act

    Things like tea, glass and paper were taxed when imported during the townshend act. Also, officers used writts of assistance to search colonial ships for smuggling. The colonista took the writts as a violation of their rights. Shortley after, merchants signed non-importantion agreements, and there were even more boycotts from the colonists.

    The Tea Act was to lower taxes on tea. The British government thought this would stop the protesting. The colonist saw this as another trap. The government did not know that this would soon lead to the Boston Tea Party.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party was a reaction to the Tea Act of April 27, 1773. The colonist were upset that the government put a tax on tea. The Sons of Liberty dressed as Mohawk Indians, then they snuck on to one of the British ships and threw all the tea overboard into the Boston harbor.
  • Intolerable Acts

    The Intolerable Acts were punishments for the Boston Tea Party. These acts include, banning town meetings, closing the Boston Harbor until the colonist paid for tea, and a new quartering act. The colonist felt that these punishments were too much on them.
  • The First Continental Congress

    56 people met in the First Continental Congress. They met because they were all apaled by the intolerable acts. This meeting called the American Military to be ready.
  • Paul Revere's Ride

    Paul Revere's Ride
    The British send troops to Concord, MA to take away weapons being stored there. Billy Dawes was the first to begin his ride from Boston MA to Lexington MA. Paul Revere had to wait for a signal before begining his ride. Finaly, Sam Prescott began his ride. All riders went around warning people that the British were comming. Revere and Dawes were captured by the British. Finaly the MA "minutemen" meet the British soldiers and then began the Battle of Lexington.
  • Lexington and Concord

    There were 2 battles. Troops were sent to Concord to capture John Hancock and Samual Adams, but Paul Revere had warned them in advance about this before it happened. When the British went to attack, the Minutemen were already prepared and waiting for them. Out of this war, nobody knows who fired first.
