    The end of the French and Indian war brought debt. Egland Wanted to tax the colonies because egland made the colonies
    to make money.This was called mercantilism.

    It banned all colonist from settling west of the Apalachan Mountins.The law was widley Ignored.
  • The Sugar Act

    Put a tax on sugar and molasses. The smuglers had cruel pnishments if caught. Also boycotted British goods.

    The Stamp Act put taxes on letters, wills, contracts, newspapers, and playing cards. They burned stamped paper.

    Required to feed and house British soldiers. Some colonists refused to let them stay.
